Organizational Meeting for GDSO Leadership

The GDSO leadership meets every Tuesday from 5:30-6:30pm. If you're interested in taking a more active role in the organization or have ideas to share with the leadership, we encourage you to contact us and join one of these meetings.

Intro to Kaggle Meetup

We're testing out a new kind of meetup to get our members more familiar with Kaggle, a popular data science competition platform. We'll get together for a few hours and work in small groups on a mini-Kaggle challenge. This is a great opportunity to build skills in a casual environment. Data Science Interview Club

Interested in honing your whiteboarding skills? We're gauging interest in a regular group meeting to practice data science interview questions. Once again, you can find out more about this by subscribing our mailing list.

Data & Society Conference

Data & Society is a conference co-hosted by the UC Berkeley Graduate Data Science Organization and Studienstiftung (German Academic Scholarship Foundation). Digitization is changing almost every part of our society at rapid pace. The goal of this event is to discuss the impact digitalization and ubiquitous data generation and analysis has on different parts of our society and how we should encounter them. Register here.

The Berkeley Master of Financial Engineering (MFE) Program is hosting their annual How I Became a Quant discussion on February 27. Starting a Career in Data Science

Our first event was a panel discussion and networking mixer with former academics who have successfully transitioned into data science careers. Our panelists were Caroline Sofiatti (Noon Home), Lenny Evans (Uber), Nathan Lande (Rally Health), and Kevin O'Sullivan (Grammarly).
